Huis van Hilde is an archeological museum in Castricum, the Netherlands. It is very childfriendly, has a lovely exhibition with recreations of ancient inhabitants of the province Noord-Holland and has some stunning architecture! 

A Swedish Christmas market in a stunning urbex venue; the Voormalig Suikerfabriek in Groningen. A really one of a kind annual event! 

Nordic Days is an event that is all about Scandinavia. It is held at a beautiful venue in Cuijk; Inspyrium. Find out more about these here;

For a private wedding anniversary, we were invited to play at the Medieval castle in Ammerzoden. A wonderful venue, oozing with history! 

The Rijksmuseum van Oudeheden is the Dutch national museum of antiquities. For over two hundred years, it has brought archaeology and the ancient world to life. At the museum, everyone can discover the age-old civilizations of Egypt, the Classical World, the ancient Near East, and the Netherlands in prehistoric, Roman, and medieval times.

In Amersfoort you can find Landgoed Schothorst, which is home to a small but very authentic early medieval farmstead. There is a farmhouse, a barn and several animals as well as an orchard and vegetable patch. All kept and maintained in historical fashion. 

We were kindly invited to play at West Stow Anglo Saxon village, and were accompanied by another lyre player and Old English speaker, Russ Jenkins. It has a lovely museum with some beautiful artifacts and very friendly people.

It has been our great honor to play at Sutton Hoo, thé site of the famous archeological dig at which pieces of a splendid lyre were found. This is the holy grail for us as Anglo Saxon re-enactors, and what a great experience it was to play here (twice already and counting)! There is magic there! 

Museumpark Archeon is one of our favorite places to go. This museum submerges its visitors in history. Wonderful recreated houses, inhabited with staff who can teach you all about daily life in those times. Be sure to visit, if you can! 

Prehistorisch Dorp, Eindhoven, feels like home away from home! Another historic museum that portrays life from the ages past. They host several wonderful events troughout the year, and we love to attend them! Superfriendly people in a beautiful setting, well worth your time!
